We’re a small, design-focused studio serving Bayside Melbourne and the Mornington Peninsula. We create light-filled, timeless, and distinctive buildings, and guide our clients through every stage — from initial ideas to completion.

Led by Natalie Beeton, our work is inspired by the natural environment, art, and modernist design. Natalie lives locally with her young family and knows firsthand how good design and a smooth process can save space, time, and money, and more importantly, enhance wellbeing and lifestyle.

Natalie Beeton is a registered Architect with close to 20 years of experience and is the director of Beeton Architects in bayside Melbourne; she can guide you through every stage of your project from concept to completion. Not shy of creating a strong design concept to improve the functionality and efficiency of spaces, Natalie gives thoughtful consideration to how light, proportions, materials and colour can create enduring spaces, whether new builds or additions. 

Natalie has a background in public, educational and commercial projects and a current focus on residential work, the core of her practice today. 

Natalie has been based in bayside Melbourne since 2014 and has an impressive list of projects to her name, significant spaces which have improved the daily lives of her clients and the fabric of the local built environment.

Simon Beeton
Architect + Director

B.Arch & B.Construct.Mgt.(Hons)

Simon Beeton is a registered Architect with strong attention to design, detail, materials, and structure. His passion for the outdoors and the environment is reflected in sustainability being central to all elements of his work.

Previously a Senior Associate at a large design-focused Melbourne firm, Simon has been involved in numerous Victorian Institute of Architects’ Award-winning projects. After 14 years, it was time for a sea-change, joining Natalie in the Black Rock office early in 2020.

Prior to studying architecture, Simon was a carpenter/builder and has worked hands-on across many residential homes and extensions. He brings this real-life construction experience into the practice and every project.

  • We appreciate the modernist design principles of light, space, and materiality.

    Our designs are beautiful and timeless; the forms are simple yet bold, and human-scaled. We use colour and natural materials to complement the design and reflect your personality, and take cues from the surrounding environment.

  • From the concept stage through to construction, we utilise sustainable and passive design principles to minimise the environmental footprint of buildings, and their energy use. Through orientation, we maximise the effects of the warming sun and cooling breezes. Applying sustainable design principles from the start is critical. We focus on spatially efficient designs that improve energy efficiency, and reduce the cost of construction.

    We see the importance of applying these design principles through every design and construction stage. It results in buildings that are comfortable and a pleasure to use – for today and into the future. Investing time and money on quality design results in a far more valuable building.

  • We pride ourselves on creating excellent design solutions that are buildable and cost effective. The hands-on building experience of the team ensures buildability is at the forefront of all decisions without loss of the overall design intent.

  • Our designs have a unique and special character; they are engaging and reflect the personalities and ways of life of our clients. Our designs are also influenced by features in the surrounding landscape and environment. Developing designs from this basis means they remain timelessly functional and uniquely beautiful, not based on transient trends. This adds value to the building for the long term.
